Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed Mirage Made Because Fans Are Tired Of RPGs

Ubisoft has revealed that the reason Assassin’s Creed Mirage was created was that their fans were tired of RPG mechanics.

This information was revealed by Stéphane Boudon during an interview with GamesRadar+. If you are interested in games from Ubisoft, you can check out our other articles here.

Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed Mirage Made Because Fans Are Tired Of RPGs

Speaking with GamesRadar+, Stéphane Boudon said that while “the convergence of several inputs” helped shape the creation of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the first thing on their mind was the voice of the community.

The creation of Mirage was a convergence of several inputs. Of course, the first came from our community: Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, all great games with the promise of living an epic journey in a powerful fantasy.

Their scope has been calibrated to meet those ambitions as they all embrace RPG mechanics. But among our fans, we’re starting to hear a desire for character-driven stories and focusing on the core pillars of the first Assassin’s Creed on a more intimate scale.

This resonated with us as well as the developers and this was the starting point of the project.

Boudon added that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a much smaller and also densely concentrated game, but the title is in no way less ambitious.

With its denser scope and clear focus on Basim and his upcoming story, our main goal with Mirage is to provide total immersion in 9th Century Baghdad and the key events of the time for Hidden Ones.

We want this game to be a standalone that everyone can enjoy.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in August 2023.
