Originally, Rockstar Games was scheduled to release the first trailer for GTA 6 on Tuesday. However, on Monday, an X (Twitter) user uploaded a low-resolution video with a watermark.
The leaked video is a trailer that Rockstar Games originally wanted to release. Because of the leak, GTA 6 developers looked so upset. This is reflected in their previous X account.

GTA 6 Developer’s frustration
Gameplay Animation’s Javier Altman wrote on X account that the leaked video took away their plans to see the other development teams’ immediate reactions.
This sucks. I was hoping to watch the trailer with my teammates and coworkers. We felt we deserved that moment.
Altman added that they were very proud of what we made. An hour after the GTA 6 trailer was officially published by Rockstar, the animator added. “Right now I’m literally crying from excitement over the response everyone has given. I can’t believe I get to be a part of this.”
Another GTA developer, Amy Hartley said that this trailer is a little earlier than expected.
As revealed through a famous game leak last year, the GTA 6 trailer confirmed that the new series will take place in Vice City, a fictional Miami city, and star a pair of protagonists.
Rockstar confirmed in February 2022 that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series was “progressing well”, but did not provide further details about the game.
However, in September 2022, one of the most notorious data leaks in the gaming industry saw over an hour of GTA 6 development footage published online, giving players a first look at the sequel to one of the best-selling games of all time.
