Recent reports have revealed that Crazy Taxi Reboot will be a AAA game.

SEGA: Crazy Taxi Reboot is a AAA Game
Speaking with The Japan Times, Takaya Segawa explained the role of SEGA Sapporo Studio and the games the studio has collaborated on.
“We are responsible for games like Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis and Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage in collaboration with bases in Tokyo and overseas,” said Segawa.
“We also participate in the development of triple-A games, including Crazy Taxi. Currently, we don’t have any titles developed independently by the studio, but we intend to do so in the future.”
In December 2023, SEGA officially announced the return of the following classic franchises:
- Crazy Taxi
- Golden Axe
- Jet Set Radio
- Shinobi
- Streets of Rage
In January 2024, Insider Gaming claimed that 10 classic SEGA games have been approved for development during the 2020-2021 period. Of these 10 games, 5 have already been announced at The Game Awards 2023. The other 3 games are:
- Panzer Dragoon
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Sakura Taisen
Insider Gaming says that there’s a good chance that of the 10 games SEGA approved at the time, the number is starting to grow again.
In early February 2024, MbKKssTBhz5 claimed that Crazy Taxi Reboot would be released in 2027.
