Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed new slimmer PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition models that will launch in November 2023.

PS5 Slim Model Releases November 2023
Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed new slimmer PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition models that will launch in November 2023. In Japan, these new models will be released on November 10, 2023.
These latest PS5 models have been reduced in volume by more than 30% and weight by 18% (Standard) and 24% (Digital Edition) compared to previous models.
This latest model has 4 separate cover panels, with a glossy top and matte bottom. The internal storage has also been increased to 1 TB.
Users who purchase the PS5 Digital Edition will also have the option to add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive that comes with the regular PS5, as it can be purchased separately.
The horizontal stand will be included with the latest models, while a new vertical stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately.

- PlayStation 5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive – $499.99 / £479.99 / €549.99 / 66,980 yen
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $449.99 / £389.99 / €449.99 / 59,980 yen
- Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive add-on – $79.99 / £99.99 / €119.99 / 11,980 yen
- Vertical Stand – $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 / 3,980 yen
Once the inventory of the old PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition models is sold out, this new model will be the only model available for purchase in the future.
In a statement to IGN regarding storage expansion, Sony Interactive Entertainment said that the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition “have no changes with the new models”. This means that the process of removing the PS5 console’s back cover panel and manually installing an additional SSD is still possible.
