Due to Fire, Stalker 2 Developer’s Office Damaged and Caused Billion Loss

Stalker 2 Server Crashes

According to the information available, the fire broke out at the team’s office in Prague, Czech Republic on Thursday. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Furthermore, the fire itself destroyed one of the three floors used by the studio.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to release in the first quarter of 2024. It’s unclear how the fire will impact the release schedule, or if any data was lost as a result of the incident, although original reports indicated that backup servers were damaged by the fire.

GSC Game World recently asked fans not to share early trials of Stalker 2, which were stolen and leaked online by Russian hackers as part of what they called a “year and a half” attack.

The studio – which relocated from Kyiv to Prague last year following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – first confirmed that it was the target of Russian hackers in March when it was revealed that employee accounts had been hacked and the studio had been threatened with extortion.
