The Wolf Among Us 2: A Telltale Series Delayed to 2024
Telltale Games has delayed The Wolf Among Us 2: A Telltale Series from 2023 to “beyond 2023”.
When Gematsu asked if this meant the game would release in 2024, Telltale Games said that they could only confirm the game’s release date “not in 2023”.
Although Telltale Games is targeting 2024, they have not set a new release date or time and are reluctant to give a release window until there is internal confirmation.

Speaking with IGN, Jamie Ottilie discussed the delay further:
If we release this game and it’s not ready, we’re going to fall to pieces. The expectations are pretty high and we want time to fulfill them and we want to be proud of it and know that ‘Hey, this is the best game we could make.’ Let the world say what they’re going to say [after] it’s done, but at least we know that in these moments, in these conditions, this is the best game we could have made.If we release this game and it’s not ready, we’re going to fall to pieces. Ottilie said that Telltale Games could have “crunched” to release The Wolf Among Us 2: A Telltale Series in 2023, but that option was never in the plans.
I’ve done it before, and I don’t want to do it again, and it’s not fair to ask. You can’t plan a business based on that. So yes, part of this is about maintaining a healthy work culture.
We don’t want to burn out our good people. It’s been really hard to hire employees in the last 2 years between COVID and the labor market and the growth of the gaming industry. So of course, burning people out or laying them off is the wrong thing to do in the long run. That’s not the way to build a business.
As an industry, we’re very bad at this. We burn out our people. We make our best people leave early. As an industry, if we want to keep growing, we have to stop doing it. We have to stop doing it and make better choices.
