Yannick Banchereau: The Division 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series Unlikely to be Made

The creative director of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Yannick Banchereau said that the game is unlikely to be made in PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions because if that happens, then they will leave players on PS4 and Xbox One.

Banchereau revealed this information during an interview with MP1st. If you are interested in Ubisoft games, you can check out our other articles here.

Yannick Banchereau: The Division 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series Unlikely to be Made

Speaking with MP1st, Yannick Banchereau explained why Ubisoft is not releasing a new version of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

That’s unlikely to happen because if we wanted to take full advantage of it since we only have one version of the game available on all platforms, taking full advantage of it would mean that the game would no longer be available on the old generation.

We still have a lot of players playing across all generations and we’re not ready to leave them behind and ask them to upgrade. Right now we’re trying to make sure every time we add something, it still runs smoothly on older generations as well.

While there won’t be PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions anytime soon, Ubisoft has released a patch in 2021 that provides 4K and 60 FPS improvements for those consoles.

Ubisoft recently confirmed that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will get a fifth year of support starting in June 2023.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store).
