Capcom has announced that sales of Street Fighter 6 have surpassed 2 million copies worldwide. The Street Fighter franchise itself has surpassed 50 million cumulative sales.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, and PC (Steam). Below is the official description of Street Fighter 6 and the Street Fighter franchise:

The first title in the Street Fighter franchise was released as an arcade game in 1987, followed by the global hit Street Fighter II in 1991 which generated mass excitement due to its innovative fighting system. Even today, more than 35 years since Street Fighter first debuted, the franchise still enjoys immense popularity worldwide with cumulative sales for the series reaching over 50 million copies worldwide. Moreover, in recent years, the franchise has increased its presence as a driving force in the esports fighting game genre.

Street Fighter 6 is the next evolution of the franchise and is a new generation of fighting game that launched 7 years after the previous title in the franchise. In addition to providing the ultimate fighting game experience, the game also features enhanced single-player features such as World Tour Mode, an immersive story mode where single players can travel the world of Street Fighter. In addition, Capcom undertook initiatives to appeal to a wide range of players, including the introduction of Modern Control Type, a new controller input option for players new to the franchise that allows them to execute special attacks with simple button combinations that saw the game surpass 2 million copies sold worldwide.

In addition, Capcom is also looking to drive sales growth by utilizing esports and plans to kick off the Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2023 in July which consists of a 9-company team owner system and will feature Street Fighter 6. Additionally, August will mark the start of the Capcom Pro Tour 2023, which will award $1 million (approximately 130 million yen) in prize money to the champion, with the total prize pool for the tournament reaching $2 million (approximately 260 million yen).
