Steam has been crushing their player records for the past 3 years. This can be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns that left players with little to do but sit at home and play games.

Steam has also broken its co-player record several times since December 2020. The record is starting to be broken again as SteamDB now lists 33,078,963 players in their database.

Interestingly, the total number of players playing the game simultaneously on Steam broke its first record of 10 million players in a single day. This record is very difficult to break if we look at the history of the graph.

On the other hand, several Steam games this week have already achieved their highest sales. At the time of this article’s publication, those titles are Elden Ring, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Ready or Not, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, FIFA 23, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Project Zomboid.
