Respawn Developing Star Wars Mandalorian First-Person Game?

Insider Gaming has claimed that Respawn Entertainment is developing a first-person Star Wars Mandalorian game in the early development stages.

According to Insider Gaming, players in this game will take control of a Mandalorian bounty hunter set in a time when the Galactic Empire dominated the galaxy.

In January 2022, Respawn Entertainment announced that it was developing 3 new Star Wars games. One of them will be Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, while the rest will be a strategy game and a first-person shooter game.

In January 2022, Jeff Grubb reported that the game was led by creative director Mohammad Alavi. However, Grubb has now clarified on X that Alavi never worked on the Star Wars Mandalorian game and he only worked on Titanfall Legends before the game was cancelled.

However, Grubb insists that the first-person game Star Wars Mandalorian is real and it’s not “The Mandalorian. The Show: The Game”. He then speculated that there is a good chance that ideas from Titanfall Legends were taken to be implemented in the Star Wars Mandalorian game.

Below is the description written by Insider Gaming:

The game’s high mobility is made possible in terms of storytelling thanks to the Mandalorian jetpack, which allows players to perform horizontal running movements, vertical jumps, quick glides (somewhat similar to sliding downhill in Apex Legends), and more.

The source describes the game as “very fast-paced” and as such will reward players who play in this style; for example, player health will largely regenerate based on consecutive kills.

Playing as a Mandalorian bounty hunter also provides players with a wide variety of weapons and gadgets including wrist rockets, grappling hooks, armour to mark enemies and bounties, and more.

Insider Gaming also added that the game will not be open world and have linear levels that take place on various different planets in the Star Wars universe.

While it is unclear when the game will be released, Insider Gaming reports that it will still take at least another 1-2 years to develop. It is currently unclear whether or not the game will have multiplayer features.
