Recent reports have revealed that the PS5 Pro is in development and is scheduled to release at the end of 2024.

PS5 Pro under development, late 2024 release?
Insider Gaming reports that the PS5 Pro is currently in development and could release with an internal release schedule of late 2024.
Insider Gaming adds that the PS5 with a removable disc drive is scheduled for release in 2023. According to him, this version will remove the current PS5 to cut production and shipping costs. Despite the widely circulated reports, Insider Gaming notes that this new version is not a PS5 Pro model.
“This is just the beginning of the new hardware coming to this generation of PlayStation users,” said an Insider Gaming source.
PS6 Launching in 2028?
On the other side of the report, Insider Gaming claims that the PS6 won’t launch until at least 2028. This would bring the current generation console’s release schedule in line with its predecessors.
In February 2023, Jeff Grubb had said that Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to hold a new PlayStation Showcase “before E3 2023”.
Although Insider Gaming could not confirm the claim, they speculated that this PlayStation Showcase was held to showcase games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and talk about the new version of the PS5 coming at the end of 2023.
