PS5 Pro specs leaked online, holiday season release 2024?
Insider Gaming reports that the PS5 Pro specs documentation leaked from Moore’s Law is Dead’s YouTube channel is real, regardless of the leaker’s credibility.
According to Insider Gaming, the leaked documentation comes from the PlayStation developer portal that was sent this week to a wider range of third-party developers.
This leaked documentation provides the following specification details:
- Renders 45% faster than PS5.
- 2-3x Raytracing (x4 in some cases).
- 33,5 Teraflops.
- Solution of upscaling/antialiasing PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling).
- Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK versions.
- Specialized machine learning architecture.
- AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point.
Insider Gaming then added that PS5 Pro devkits have been available to first-party studios since September 2023 and third-party studios/companies since January 2024. From spring 2024, PS5 Pro testkits will be available and will be identical to the final product.
Insider Gaming also notes that the PS5 Pro is currently scheduled to release internally in the 2024 holiday season, but this schedule may change due to the lack of first-party games releasing on the PS5 in 2024.
In March 2023, Insider Gaming reported that the PS5 Pro is targeted for release in late 2024.
In July 2023, Key to Gaming had reported that the PS5 Pro had the internal name “Project Trinity” and was specifically targeted for release in November 2024.
