Sony: PlayStation VR2 Could Outperform PlayStation VR

Hiroki Totoki recently said that PlayStation VR2 has a “good chance” of outperforming PlayStation VR.

Sony: PlayStation VR2 Could Outperform PlayStation VR

In a casual chat during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, Hiroki Totoki was asked to evaluate the launch of PlayStation VR2 and Sony Group Corporation’s expectations for the hardware in the future.

We are very excited to be launching PlayStation VR2 on PS5. PlayStation VR has sold over 5 million units and I think we have a good chance of surpassing that number with PlayStation VR2.

Totoki then referred to estimates that the overall VR market could become one of the biggest growth areas within the media and entertainment segment during the first half of the decade.

If accurate, Totoki said that there is “good potential” for the VR/AR market and also “good potential for technological development in this field”.
