Official Description
Phantom Abyss is a massively asynchronous multiplayer game that throws players into a procedurally generated temple and tasks them with retrieving sacred relics hidden within the deadly chamber.
Intrepid adventurers will dodge a number of hidden traps, jump over dangerous chasms, and escape the tireless guards through branching paths until one of the relics is claimed or the death device overwhelms them.
Be careful though, you only get one chance at each shrine and if you fail or choose an inferior relic, you’ll never see that shrine again…
The cleverest players will use the shadows of the failed attempts of other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that lead to their destruction. Once the legendary relics at the bottom of each shrine are discovered, the shrine will be lost forever and become a priceless trophy for skilled adventurers.

- Asynchronous Multiplayer – Explore the treacherous hallways and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the ghosts of players who have fallen before you and use their successes and failures to your advantage to progress further than they expected. Watch and learn from the mistakes of up to 20 ghosts including your Steam friends who have attempted the same temple and steal their whips as they fall.
- Unlock More Treacherous Floors – Regain keys from chests to unlock deeper, deadlier parts of the shrine that hold more coveted relics. The harder a relic is to obtain, the greater the reward – the last Legendary Relic from a shrine allows you to claim the entire shrine so that it is lost forever.
- Blessings from the Gods – As adventurers venture further into the temple, offerings of collected treasures can be made by transforming them to gain new blessings for the rest of the adventure. Collect as much treasure as possible to please the gods and earn double jumps, gliding jumps, extended slides, protection against damage and more!
- Unlockable Whips – Unlock new whips successfully and choose from your collection before venturing into the next run. Each whip brings small blessings but also curses that can complicate your quest for wealth and glory.
- Social Connections – Players can share a Temple Code to run a failed temple so friends can try the same temple or share an Adventure Code that generates a playlist of temples the player has tried in the past.
Phantom Abyss will be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC (Steam, Humble Store) on January 25, 2024.
