7 Years Old, Nintendo Plans to Increase Switch Production

Recent reports have revealed that Nintendo is planning to increase production of the Nintendo Switch to meet demand, despite the console being almost 7 years old.

This information was published by Bloomberg. If you are interested in hardware in the video game industry, you can check out our other articles here.

Bloomberg: Nintendo Plans to Increase Switch Production

In November 2022, Nintendo reduced its Nintendo Switch sales forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2023 by 2 million units, from 21 million to 19 million.

But this is not the case. According to Bloomberg, huge consumer demand coupled with reduced component shortages have prompted Nintendo to actually ramp up production of the Nintendo Switch in the next fiscal year starting in April 2023.

Nintendo Switch sales have historically been driven by the release of up-and-coming games, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo also has The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which will release in May 2023.

If Bloomberg’s information is true that Nintendo Switch production will increase, then the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could be the reason behind the increased production.
