Is Netflix interested in bringing GTA to its service?

The Wall Street Journal reported that Netflix is looking to license large IP from third parties to complement its growing first-party catalog.

In the coming months, Netflix subscribers will reportedly be able to play mobile games like Squid Game and Wednesday, while the company is also exploring games based on Extraction, Black Mirror, and the Sherlock Holmes series.

Despite its growing lineup of first-party games, Netflix will also continue to offer popular third-party games such as Bloons TD 6 and Classic Solitaire. According to The Wall Street Journal, Netflix has also discussed the release of games in the Grand Theft Auto franchise through a licensing deal with Take-Two Interactive.

Netflix began offering access to its mobile game library to subscribers through the Android and iOS versions of their app at the end of 2021. However, the service also extends to high-end games that can be streamed from TV or PC.
