Bobby Kotick wants to buy TikTok with Sam Altman?

The Wall Street Journal reported that some executives have discussed buying TikTok if ByteDance agrees to sell the division.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Bobby Kotick has expressed interest in the chairman and founder of ByteDance, Zhang Yiming. The price offered for this sale is estimated to be in the hundreds of billions of US dollars.

The Wall Street Journal added that Kotick also pitched the idea of partnering to buy TikTok to several people, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

In the United States, legislation is being pushed to require ByteDance to either drop TikTok or ban the app from operating in the United States.

In its article, The Wall Street Journal noted that around 170 million Americans use TikTokk and this move will be a major blow to ByteDance if the law is formalized.

Now, the legislation that is being submitted to congress in the United States is on the verge of being approved by President Joe Biden.
