James Gunn: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Inspired by Mass Effect dan Star Wars: KOTOR

Speaking at Skyblue after the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn revealed that Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic influenced the film.

Gunn didn’t explain which parts were inspired, but it seems that the games influenced the overall atmosphere of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 world and perhaps even the dynamics between the Guardians themselves.

Gunn also agreed with a fan who said that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is “the greatest game of all time”. Gunn has praised the game before in 2019 and called it his “favorite game of all time”.

This is not the first Gunn movie to be inspired by a video game. For The Suicide Squad (2021), Gunn referenced Lollipop Chainsaw as inspiration for the movie.
