Humble Games will limit the use of AI in its published games
Speaking with Game Developer, Alan Patmore revealed that Humble Games proactively set up processes and procedures to avoid getting caught in a situation where they face copyright issues and other legal challenges due to the use of AI.
Patmore explains that the company has not received any bids where the use of AI is an issue, but feels it is wiser to be proactive than reactive.
Additionally, Patmore added that there should be skepticism towards AI tools that raise questions about ownership in game development.

It will probably be part of the contracting process where [developers] have to certify that they are not using AI to pull data [and create assets].
I think part of this is looking at how we evaluate the toolsets that developers use so that we don’t get stuck in a situation where a tool has taken data and, suddenly, there are a lot of assets that developers don’t have the rights to use in their games.
