Speaking with IGN Japan, Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about his thoughts on the future of the Armored Core franchise.

“As you can see from the fact that we created Armored Core VI, the Armored Core franchise is very important to FromSoftware,” Miyazaki replied.

“We have a strong desire to continue it in the future. I believe Armored Core VI was a success. On the other hand, not everything is perfect and there is still room for improvement. So, I don’t intend to stop here.”

As of October 2023, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has sold around 2.8 million copies worldwide. The game is already available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC(Steam).

In February 2024, Miyazaki had told IGN that he was starting to feel comfortable entrusting a new game to another director. From the same interview, Miyazaki also said that FromSoftware did not rule out the possibility of making Elden Ring 2.

Entering May 2024, Miyazaki had told Zhihu that FromSoftware had no plans for further DLC beyond Elden Ring‘s first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.
