Konami: Hideo Kojima Not Involved in Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

IGN reports that Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa are not involved in the development of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. This report comes after they asked Konami about who the team is making the remake.

They are not involved. However, the development team will be working hard to make this remake as well as the port (for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection) to be enjoyed on multiple platforms by more players around the world.

Konami

Konami added that the “central role” of the development of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will be taken on by developers at Konami who have been “involved in the production of previous Metal Gear franchise [games]”.

These developers will be working with Virtuos, a supporting studio that has also been “involved in the production of previous games in the Metal Gear franchise”.

IGN then asked why Konami chose to start the remake with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and not the first Metal Gear Solid.

We chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because this game depicts the birth of BIG BOSS (Naked Snake) which is the starting point of the Metal Gear franchise. Another reason is because many fans have been asking for a remake of this game for a long time.

Konami

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will release on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC (Steam). The game does not have a release date yet.
