Final Fantasy Franchise Sales Top 180 Million Copies
Square Enix recently announced that sales of the Final Fantasy franchise have surpassed 180 million copies worldwide.

We are pleased to announce that the Takarazuka Revue lineup for 2024 has been finalized for Takarazuka Grand Theatre and Tokyo Takarazuka Theatre.
[The legendary Final Fantasy franchise has shipped and downloaded over 180 million copies worldwide since the first game was released in 1987. With its beautiful graphics, unique worldview, and rich storyline, the franchise has captivated people not only in Japan, but also around the world and has expanded beyond the boundaries of video games to include TV dramas, movies, Kabuki, and various other media mixes.
The latest title in the franchise, Final Fantasy XVI, releases in June 2023 and has become a huge sensation worldwide; and will be performed at Takarazuka Revue. The collaboration between Takarazuka Revue and Final Fantasy will create an innovative musical work.

Interestingly, Square Enix had included the figure in their press release on June 28, 2023, when announcing that Final Fantasy XVI had sold 3 million copies. However, the figure is only visible in the “About Final Fantasy” section.
