Are Far Cry 7 and Far Cry Multiplayer in Development?

Recently, news that was circulating said that two new games from the Far Cry franchise were in development by Ubisoft. Reportedly, Far Cry 7 is one of the games being developed by Ubisoft.

Based on available information, Insider Gaming revealed that Ubisoft is currently developing two new Far Cry games. Details about the development of these two games are not so widespread. However, the two-game titles will be unified but remain in separate projects when they enter the development stage.

Both games were under the supervision of Day Hay until they became separate entities after Blizzard Entertainment left. Far Cry 7 is said to be Project Blackbird and the Multiplayer version is Project Maverick. Both projects reportedly involve Ubisoft Montreal.

Some sources say that Project Maverick has undergone a lot of changes in the past year. Some of the settings of the game are rumored to take place in Alaska.

Unfortunately, Insider Gaming did not publish some of the screenshots they got. However, he explained that there will be multiple chests, extraction zones, and more. For now, both games will most likely release in the fall of 2025 or about 2 years away.
