Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have shown the first gameplay of Dead Island 2, where they also announced the pre-order of the game.

Dead Island 2 Gameplay
A deadly virus has spread through Los Angeles, California, turning residents into ravenous zombies. Currently, the city is under quarantine and the military has withdrawn. Those who are bitten become infected, but not only are you immune, you learn to harness the zombies within.
Only you and a handful of other arrogant humans resistant to the pathogen will secure the future of Los Angeles (and humanity). As you uncover the truth behind the plague, you will discover who – or what – you are. Survive, evolve, and save the world – just one more day in Los Angeles!

- Dead Island 2 takes players through the City of Angels’ most iconic locations, now tinged with horror, on an exciting pulp journey from the verdant suburbs of Beverly Hills to the quirky promenade of Venice Beach.
- Combat provides the most intense, immersive, and bloody first-person experience, with plenty of weapons and tactical (and brutal) options to chew your way through the zombie hordes.
- There are six characters to choose from, each with unique personalities and dialogue. You can fully customize each Slayer’s abilities, with our new skill system allowing you to instantly re-specify and attempt the craziest builds.
- Our Los Angeles is filled with zombies that look and react realistically. These mutated wretches are the revived rotten heart of Dead Island 2 with dozens of different zombie types, each with their own Los Angeles-themed mutations, attacks, and hundreds of variants.

Dead Island 2 is confirmed to release for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC (Epic Games Store) on 28 April 2023.
