CS:GO Hits 1.4 Million Players on Steam

In February 2023, CS:GO surpassed the record number of concurrent players on PC with 1.32 million players. Now, Valve is thanking their 1.4 million Twitter followers for “organizing and playing CS: GO simultaneously today”.

According to SteamDB, 1,420,183 players contributed to the new CS:GO record. Before the new record in February 2023, CS:GO’s concurrent user record stood at 1,308,963 players. However, the record was set 3 years ago when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

This new record comes just days after a report hinted that a new version of CS:GO, most likely called Counter-Strike 2, is coming soon.

Counter-Strike 2 is said to use the Source 2 engine, have 128 ticks comparable to Valorant, and have a much better match-making system with features that are expected to compete with FACEIT and ESEA.
