Smilegate officially revealed that CrossfireX will officially close on May 18, 2023.

CrossfireX is officially closed, why?
Smilegate has announced that CrossfireX will end its service on May 18, 2023. After that date, multiplayer and single-player campaigns developed by Remedy Entertainment will no longer be playable.
CrossfireX launches for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One on February 10, 2022.
Below is the official statement from Smilegate:
Attention Mercenaries,
It is with great regret that we inform you of our decision to end support for CrossfireX on May 18, 2023. Since the game’s launch, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring it to a point where we can all be proud, and throughout it all we’ve had the honor and pleasure of supporting our players.
Making this decision was not easy, however, we are proud to say that our players have been very active, passionate and enthusiastic in working with us to create a game that is fun and enjoyable for everyone. We would like to thank each and every one of our players for playing CrossfireX and being part of this journey with us.
Effective immediately:
- All sales on the Xbox Store will be discontinued.
- There will be no new content added to the game (e.g. maps, modes, camo, etc.).
- Purchases made within the last 14 days as of February 3, 2023, may be eligible for a refund. Please submit a refund request here.
- Our game servers will shut down on May 18, 2023 for the last time, but until then you will be able to enjoy all previously purchased and unlocked in-game content.
- We have created this FAQ that can answer any additional questions you may have.
