Counter-Strike 2 Now Available on Steam
For over two decades, Counter-Strike has offered an elite competitive experience, shaped by millions of players from around the world. And now a new chapter in the Counter-Strike story is about to begin. This is Counter-Strike 2.
The free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Counter-Strike 2 marks the biggest technical leap in Counter-Strike history. Built on the Source 2 engine, Counter-Strike 2 is modernized with realistic physics-based rendering, advanced networking, and improved Community Workshop tools.
In addition to the classic objective-focused gameplay pioneered by Counter-Strike in 1999, Counter-Strike 2 features:
- An all-new Counter-Strike rating with a revamped Premier mode.
- Global and Regional leaderboards.
- Upgraded and overhauled maps.
- A dynamic smoke grenade that changes the game.
- Gameplay that does not rely on tick-rates.
- Redesigned visual and audio effects.
- All items from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive move forward to Counter-Strike 2.
