Microsoft and Nintendo have signed a binding agreement to bring Call of Duty with Nintendo platforms for 10 years. This is assuming Microsoft’s proposed Activision Blizzard acquisition plan is successful.

This information was announced by Brad Smith via his Twitter. If you’re interested in Activision games, you can check out our other articles here.

We want the record to be clear and address any misunderstandings. I’m delighted to repost below this statement and affirm Microsoft’s strong commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo’s customers if our acquisition of Activision Blizzard is approved by regulators. pic.twitter.com/AlsIjwAGEU

In 2022, Microsoft promised a 10-year deal to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo and Steam if it managed to buy Activision Blizzard.

Below is the official statement from Brad Smith:

Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a 10-year legally binding agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players – on the same day as Xbox, with equivalent features and content – so they can enjoy Call of Duty just as much as Xbox and PlayStation gamers.

We are committed to providing equal long-term access to Call of Duty to other gaming platforms, bringing more choice for more players and more competition to the gaming market.

Brad Smith, President of Microsoft

Microsoft had offered a similar deal to its main rival, Sony Interactive Entertainment, but Jim Ryan said that the proposal was “inadequate in many ways”.

Microsoft still doesn’t own Activision Blizzard. Despite having proposed the acquisition in January 2022, the company still faces regulatory hurdles from the European Commission (EC), the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
