CD PROJEKT RED stated that the live-action project Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in 2025 at the earliest.
This information was revealed by Michał Nowakowski in CD PROJEKT RED’s latest financial call. If you’re interested in movie and TV adaptations of video games, you can check out our other articles here.
During the financial call, Michał Nowakowski did not say when exactly this live-action project will debut, but he did reveal that the project will not be released in 2024.
“In terms of promotional activities, there’s an Ultimate Edition coming out soon, but in terms of the Cyberpunk IP, we’re going to nurture it and grow it through activities outside of the game as well,” Nowakowski said.
“We’re not getting into specifics here, but one of the obvious things we’ve announced, which won’t happen next year but will be developed or moving in that direction next year, is the project we’ve announced with Anonymous Content.”
The new project is currently in the early stages of development and has started looking for a screenwriter who will tell a new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
As part of this collaboration, RED PROJECT CD will work directly with Anonymous Content Studios’ head of TV Garret Kemble, director of development Ryan Schwartz, and creative head David Levine.
